Rough Idle/Stalling Help!!

My girlfriend has a 97 camaro with a 3.8 in it. She broke down last night because her engine started running real rough and keeps stalling. I brought my scan tool and looked at it today and the only thing that looked wrong was that the computer was retarding the ingnition timing 30-35 degrees. The only way you can keep the car running is to keep it at around 3000 rpms. I couldnt keep it running long enough to get it into closed loop so I cant see what the oxygen sensors are doing. Any one have any suggestions on what elese I can look at?

General troubleshooting should be posted in a gen specific forum, transfering to v6 tech.
Thanks.

Well by the readings of my scan tool, the computer seems to be working correctly, but for some reason something is happening to make the computer delay the ignition timing so much. My guess is that it could be fuel related, but Im not sure where to go from here.
