A repost from a ? I put in the LT1 forum :)
http://web.camaross.com/bb/Forum1/HTML/108701.html
There's a description of the problem that I'm having out of my '95 right now. I've replaced the wires, and the one plug that wouldn't fire. It seems to me as though its STILL the #1 cylinder that isn't firing. I've pulled each wire from the coil packs, then reconnected them while it was running *using a thick glove
* and EVERY cylinder but #1 would stumble slightly as it fired up once it received a spark. I can see/hear that the #1 location on the coil pack is getting spark so I'm pretty sure that its still good. Plus when I swap say the #3 w/ the #1 I still have pretty much the same miss *sounds the same*.
SOOOOOOO with that long explanation I'm about 99.9% sure that its NOT a plug/wire/pack problem thats going on. The other 5 cylinders are firing just fine. I'm not getting an SES light either. Do any of you guys have any suggestions as to what I should check next? I've debated on pulling the injector to see what its looking like but I didn't wanna go through the hassel of ripping the top end apart for no reason, that is if anyone else has another lead that I follow. If I DO have to pull the plenum, which way would you suggest that I go about it? Some of the bolts on the backside look to be rather difficult to get to.
Sorry for the long post
But hopefully one of you old-timers will be able to help me out here.

I read from your other post, and read this one, and I understand that you have done quite a bit to rule out the complete ignition system..but I would try one las thing, it's the easiest way to make sure you're getting a good spark.
With all the wires where they are supposed to be, and the car running, take off the number one wire (since you're sure that's where your miss is
)
If there is no noticeable change then, at all, then you know without a doubt it's just not getting fire, but there is still another part to this check.
While holding the wire, by something other than the boot preferably
, hold the cap down close to the plug and see if there is a spark..if not, it is something that you have ruled out to 99.9%. One cylinder can lose fire just as easy as two or more.
I'd try it just to be positive before wrapping up any more time in it than I had to, expecially since this take less than a minute. If you are getting fire, then I would say that it is most likely something in the fuel delivery to #1, I don't really know what else it could be...there's three things that make the cylinder do it's job...Air, Fuel, and Spark.
EDIT: And be careful, don't electrocute yourself!

Thanks for the suggestion, BowTie
I went ahead and tried that out also but still no luck. Its starting to frustrate me slightly! What baffles me is how no SES light is coming on. I did notice today, however... when I started my car up to lope it to work after sitting a couple of days, a good amount of blue-ish smoke came out the exhaust. I'm assuming this is an oil smoke, right? I still haven't pulled the injector on #1 yet to have a look, it looks kinda difficult to pull it
Oh well, if I don't find a fix for it then I guess that'll just push me to get my cam/pistons in a little earlier *evil laugh*. I have my project LT1 sitting in TN about 85% complete now. mid/late Sept was my planned install date but who knows with this mess!

The bluish smoke is oil smoke, which was probably just a little oil seapage sitting on top of the pistons from where it had been sitting a couple of days, I wouldn't think anyhting about it, I don't think it has much if anything at all to do with your prob. If it's not an injector I don't have many more ideas...You may want to check all your vacuums that are related to this part of the engine (EGR, other vacuums on the intake manifold...) I don't really think that a bad o2 sensor, or EGR valve, or something like that would cause this, but who knows?
It's hard to tell sometimes just in conversation what exactly is going on, so without anything else to suggest..Good Luck

You say you hear something by coil in same area as #1 post?,you see spark?.If you hear snapping by coil this is prob. a crack the energy will (snap)goin across cracks/ breaks.
Check it at night Ive found a few bad wires this way, good luck.
