remove the cat conv. from a 98 3800?

Will it throw any codes or run like crap? I figure its an easy way to help it run a little better.

it'll throw a code but won't run any different. it's an easy fix with an o2 simulator as well.

It sounds better, throttle response is better just gooseing it and WOT, revs better. Does smell a tad like fuel though. Runs better in my opinion. cats suck, lol. I was complaining in another post about it not being able to even chirp the tires at take off. Now it spins some.... The cat must have been clogged a little.

To really take advantage of the !cat mod you should have the car tuned. You can lean out the fuel mixture a bit more without risking killing the cat, and that will allow you to make more power....
