Question Ram Air Airbox

Hey people, I got a question. I have a 1999 v6 Firebird, and was wondering what I would need to do to put the factory trans am ram air kit in. would it fit under the stock v6 hood? i have seen trans am's w/o the ws6 hood that have ram air on it. this is kinda what I'm talking about.

see in there, is the ram air airbox. can anyone tell me what parts i need? and how if it will fit under my hood.
thank you for your assistance.

you already have the exact set-up except the lid is different...all you need to buy is hte aftermarket lid, like the Whisper or RK Sport...and it does fit under the stock hood.....

oh oki.. well I actually looked at a trans am at a dealer and the trans am had a kinda raised airbox if you will. there was a piece that raised the airbox maybe an inch off the metal. You could see the airfilter and whatnot and I was wondering what this piece was and if I bought it, would I need to buy the rest of the box as well, and would it fit under my factory hood. thanks..

that bottom piece will only fit under the factory WS6 hood, i dont think it will fit under the stock hood, atleast ive never seen it done, you can try it but it may hit the hood and leave a couple dents...

Here's the GM part number:

ws6 lower airbox 12455209

It costs about 75 dollars from gmpartsdirect.com.

And I believe it fits fine in the 98+ w/ stock hood.
