has anyone w/ the 3.8L series II engine raced either the new style v6 eclipse or a 300zx? i've got a couple friends that have these and was just wondering how i would do against them...all 3 of us are automatic by the way.

 

I used to race my friend that has a 2001 Eclipse GT Spyder (3.0l V6) and a cold air intake, he could take me off the line (My V6 had a 3.08). After about 40mph it was really close.

I got wammed by an Eclipse that was twin turboed (of course i didn't know it at the time and thought it was stock). As far as new eclipses, i raced one up to 40 before he seemed to give up, i dont know if thats counted as a real race though. (probably not). Don't know about 300ZX, i've been looking to race one though.

300Z would kill you any way it came. the new eclipes will give you a run for your money as well.
