Question about first mods to do

What is the best Exhaust system for a 02 3.8. im just getting started with the mods, i just put a K&N filter, and an SLP cold air intake, and the Whisper lid is on the way, same with the Hurst shifter. Any suggestions on what i sould do next?

They all flow about the same, so your hp gains are going to be about the same regardless of what system you choose. What you need to think about is how much you want to spend and what sound you like. A lot of V6 guys like dynomax and flowmaster. Those are the cheapest of the systems youll find. The guys with the big wallets like Borla. People are just gonna suggest whatever they think sounds good. You should get some soundclips and then make your desicion.

If you dont mind digging in a bit, I'd suggest gears as your next mod. Drop in some 3.73s, or even 4.11s if youre really serious. Your gas milage will drop a bit, but acceleration will pick up. Are you into drag racing? If so replacing rear suspension pieces will aid in your launc and lowering your et.

for exhaust, if you have the cash, go for the borla. i like since it is adjustable. can be real loud or just mild. if not go with the flowmaster 80 series. i had those before the borla and i liked the sound. except for the higher range rpms. just do not get a magnaflow i think they are called?? my friend has it on his 2002 3.8 and it sounds like crap. you can also find a chip to help you out. some get rid of your speed limiter and things like that. after that maybe some NAWS!! jk.

I've been thinking about the B&B (expensive though), won't be for a couple of months though.

I want something that isn't going to sound too hollow above 3000 rpms (I have the 40 series FM on now), and I think that's one of them. Edlebrock is another good one, I hear.

You may want to get more specific info on the different types of exhausts because with having a lower HP motor, you want the most scavenging exhaust you can get. The extra money will payout in the long run.

Also, I second the NAAAWWWSSSS!
