question about catalytic converter on 1997 V6

does the cat on the 1997 V6 bolt in and out or does it need to be cut out and welded in?

sorry it is a friends car, otherwise i would just look

I believe it bolts up on one side and welds up on the other. Thats how my 94 was, haven't looked at my 97 bird yet.

My 97 was welded from both ends.. looks factory and car only had 70k on it.. but im not positive if they all do
