Well, just like the sub. says, when it rains pretty hard down here, my power steering will just go out at random times. When it happens, it scares the crap out of me . Any ideas of what it could be and how I could go about fixing it. Thanks.

 

Sounds like water is causing the belt to slip b/c of wet pulleys.
Theres a little gauge/or indicator slash marks on the side of the belt tentioner that tells you if belt is bad/stetched. The little arrow(cast in) should point somewhere in the middle of these marks slashes/lines,Good.Lower portion of lines, Good.Upper marks or past upper marks ,Bad belt.

yea i would say your belt is slipping...but you gotta love one thing though about the rain, driving our cars in it

 

i had the same problem , and a new belt solved it
