Power problem

I have 20,000 on my 3800 v6 2002 camaro and the whole time I'm driving I hear a whistle from under the hood (sounds like a police car whizzing by) I just got the car... Sounds nice just checking to see if that's normal. Also, what is the recommended alternator size for my car? It seems a bit small for a fully loaded camaro and when I start it , the battery reader is at about half until it "Kicks in"??? then it goes beyond 3/4 of the guage. Does anyone else have this problem? Also when I hit the brakes, the battery guage needle goes down and the lights dim, then it returns to normal...but it doesn't happen all the time... thanks

Re: Power problem

i was going to say, i think i had the same problem in my oldsmobile when i ran the RCA cables too close to the power cable for the amp. and then again, when my ground game loose, it seemed to whistle a little extra. glad you got it solved.

Re: Power problem

It is actually not the radio whistling it is under the hood.. when the radio is not even on plus it is a stock radio... that one is still a mystery but the power surge problem is addressed.....thanks
