port and polish head q's
i have a 95 3.4L camaro and my head gasket just went. i'm going to try to get as much power that i can out of it. since i need a new head gasket i was thinking of getting my heads ported and polished. the thing is i don't know anywhere to bring them and how much to get them ported. also, i have no clue what the price on doing something like this would be... if you can answer and/or give me any adive on this, please do. thanks
most machine shops will port heads , it wont be the best , but it will cerianly help, or oyu could send them off to a company that ports heads all day (AFR, total engine airflow) they will be more expensive, but it will also flow more, or you could get em extrude honed... expect to spend over a grand... but they will be pretty when done..
or go to http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.htm
and do them your self

i'm just looking for a decent mod..i want to be faster but i dont think i'll have a grand after i do the head gasket.. the most i'd spend on it would be around 600 bucks.. i'm only 17 and i make 7.15 an hour.. jus tryin to do some affordable mods.
if i were in your shoes, id do some research, maybe even ask a shop how to do it yourself, buy a dremel, some carbide bits, and start grinding. dremels are very useful, i use mine atleast twice a week. it justifies the purchace, and saves you money.
