Smile Performance Upgrade

I just found this board and I have found a lot of useful info. The one thing that I was wondering is: what would be the best upgrades to do to my ride? I have a 1996 RS w/3.8 automatic...100% stock. I have found a place called camaro heaven that would sell me a V8 w/ six speed for $1500. Would I be better off installing a V8 or would I have to change everything else under my hood? Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.

If you have time and money, sure you can swap a V8 into a V6.

However, my suggestion is that if you want a V8 F-body, buy a Z28/TA/Formula.

Good luck!

they will sell you a v-8 with a 6 speed for 1500, that is a great deal possibly, what type of engine is it , 305, 350(lt1 ls1?), and what condititon is it in? rebuild? if so , is it going to burn oil? is the tranny in goiod condition, was it rebuilt?, all questions i would need to know before i would buy anything , but if it is all in good condition and it is not a 305 , i would go for it , that is a great price

if you can get a v8 with a 6 speed, there's no reason why you shouldn't do it. how can i get in touch with this place anyway?

$1500?? That is an excellent price...I think I should look into that. What kind of shape is the engine and transmission in? There was a post about a guy who did a LS1 swap, check around the site and it should be there.
