Re: performance chip

I did not know the 3.4l was "chipable", so to speak...being that it doesn't use a chip, if memory serves correct...

Re: performance chip

They 3.4's use an eletronic control unit just like all other cars.
The last year for a computer less V6 camaro was 1984.
Have you done any thing else to your car?
It is a V6 push rod engine, not much you can do to have it make more power with just playing with spark advance, A/F ratios. It would do even less for a standard trans car.

Re: performance chip

That is not true. All camaros from 1982 and up had a computer that controlled the fuel injection for the 4 cyl and cross fire V8, and the carb and distributor advance for v-6 and carb 305.

Re: performance chip

The jet "chip" goes inline with the PCM and overrides the stock settings.
I had one, it worked ok. A pretty good bang for the buck.

The HPP is an overpriced peice of junk IMHO

The 95 3.4 is a flashable PCM, you typically have to send it in (or use a core)
and have it programed or visit the tuner's shop. (Unless you have the software and cables you need to flash it yourself)

Ed Wright did my custom PCM years ago he still does 3.4s
I think he charges $300, but does great work.
The 3.4's PCM is not a tunable as other computers, it tunes A/F in 800rpm increments and tops out at 5600 IIRC.

I'm not sure if anyone else is doing it these days.
I didn't see it on PCMForless.com, Superchips.com or MadZ28.com's pages.

Re: performance chip

Fastchip is the only one I know of that still offers 3.4 flashing, yup around $300.

I'm happy with my HPP.

The Jet modules and also the Venom modules.
