Panhard Rod??

Exclamation Panhard Rod??

so im at the step of takin the 3 bolts off from the left side of the panhard rod and i want to take the other 2 bolts off from the other side but b4 i do that i want some help on knowing if I unbolt it ... do i need a jack/lift for my rear end housing ,is something going to drop instantly???? sorry im asking this my chiltons book doesnt say or show anything about after unbolting the panhard rod/bar,just that its easier to get to the tank now...please help! ~camaro levi

You don't have to jack the rearend, but when you go to reinstall the panhard rod and tighten the fasteners, the suspension is supposed to be "loaded" which would be done by jacking the rearend up.

thank u ,especially about the info on the "loading" i'll be doing that this saturday, i jus wanted to make sure that the rear end didnt fall on me or my head since im alone in the garage ,.(jus me and my dog taz)((he's no lassie))but yeah thanks so u are saying that as soon as i'm done unbolting the right side(passenger) side panhard rod its not going to just "drop" is it....?
