Overdrive or not

Should a 1994 auto v6 camaro be driven in overdrive or not. what are the advantages and disadvantages of each???

overdrive, better mpg, easy on engine cause lower rpms. why do you ask?

I was told it was harmful by someone when i was originally told that it was better for the car. So i wanted to make sure.

The only arguement I have ever heard for not using OD is to avoid the extra shift.

With that logic, might as well stay in second, and if your gonna stay in second might as well stay in first or maybe you can pull off only using reverse.
