Over heating

Post Over heating

when i sit at a stop light for more than a minute my car heats up well into the 200"s until the fans come on or i have the heater goin. It didn't used to to do this, can anyone give me a clue? I'v had my raditor flushed and that didn't help.

mine used to do that. i replaced my thermostat for a 160 and never had that problem again. hope it helps.

do you ever take your car to the track? do you plan to? if so, i would hook up an automatic fan switch. that way when the car starts to get that hot, flip on the fan.

i dont' think it's abnormal to have it rise when you're stopped at lights in such a hot climate.

a 160 thermo would be a good cheap investment too. i'd get both it and the fan switch.

It's a 94'. It didn't used to do this though. It used to be able to sit and not heat up like that. The other thing is that it doesn't do it EVERY time just most of the time. it even does it when it frickin *** cold outside. If it was really hot than i could see that but not when its cold.

I have a 1993 and it never over heats and in the winter it run's very cold and I never get warm in it I am always cold
