odd noises from air intake system 97 3.8

My car has always made this odd noise kinda sounds like a flapped door opening and closing fast. Have any of you had this problem and what did you do to cure it. only seems to do it when the car is idling and sounds horrible.

have you run the engine with the hood open to try to see where it's coming from? and another question, does it seem like the car shakes more when it's making that noise? as if it's rocking? I need more information on the problem but i think it may be the problem i had.

the noise is coming from the air cleaner box or something. but when you get it off idle it goes away. this is not a miss related thing as the car idles very smooth. Just an annoying sound related to the air intake system is all.

its almost like a popping noise or an exhaust leak sounding noise but it has done it since new. maybe just normal for the stock air intake assembly so I thought maybe a cold air induction setup would get rid of this noise.

sounds like it is something with that intake. It's been so long since i've had a stock intake that i don't even remember what it sounds like with one. I wish i could help more but the cold air induction may very well solve that. Good luck man
