Not sure what to do.....

I have found a place that will either rebulid my 2.8 or put one in with the same casting numbers for 1400.00 that is a reman motor longblock. 822.00 for the motor and 580.00 to install. Should i have mine rebulit or let them use one they already have ready. its only 3 days more and the same price to have them use mine. let me know what you think. Thanks

Depends on what it cost to rebuild, also what;s the mileage on yours, Does "reman" mean remaining engine as in new? It there is only like a $200 price difference i would take the reman if it is new. You just half to make a judgement which engine is going to give you the most use for the buck. You might even get enough from selling you current engine to make up the difference for the new one.

goo luck with it

Its a gamble, how reliable is the shop? Sometimes remanufactered means we pulled it from another car and cleaned it up good.

The motors are honed, bored .040, etc... everything is new in side, heads done, etc. this place has been in business for 20 years and they are always busy. and it is the same price to go with one they have ready or they will rebulid mine, im just not sure which to do. Thnaks

For about $300-400 more you could buy a 3.4L crate engine from GM and end up with something...
