Angry No Power

Long story short: 97 Camaro RS

Had oil leak from the rear of the intake manifold. 2 days later after getting everything back together, I jump in to fire it up. Interior lights, work. Put the key in, let the fuel pump prime as the rail was off. Turn it over and dead. No power anywhere. I checked the fuses under the hood last night, and am about to check the interior fuse block, but am skeptical. What would cause everything to shut down?

Will post back after checking the main fuse block.

Fuses seem good. I reconnected the battery again, and had the same thing from last night happen. I am thinking this may have something to do with the alarm system. This is the car I had going through college, and had sold it to my father to buy my SS. 6 years later he gives me the car...

Anyhow, I had a Viper system put in way back when which doesnt seem to work now. I wonder if the battery being disconnected for a couple of days has conjoured up some strange reactions.

Alarm power removed, same thing. It seems that that car will lose power when trying to turn over (doesnt actually engage the starter). If I disconnect that batt and come back in an hour it will do the same thing.

Any ideas or guidence?

Thanks for the input. After toiling for hours, I hooked up a jump box just to see. Car started right up. I had tested the batt with a volt meter and was sitting at 12.5v, load haddnt even crossed my mind. I feel like such a durr.

What was that saying we learned when we were kids? Something about the easiest solution often being the right one. Shoot me now
