Need help, no experence with electronic motors
Okay, I have NEVER layed a finger on a electronic controlled car as previous cars were a 1981 Camaro Z-28, 85 Camaro 4cyl swaped 383 into her, 1970 Dodge challenger.
Here is what's going on.
The car is a 1993 Chevrolet Camaro 3.4L v-6 standard transmission. ALL STOCK. THe car has 140k on the clock.
The car was given a tune-up recently by me tring to fix the problem, this consisted of plugs and wires. I changed all the fluids (Coolant, oil, trans, diff), replaced some electronic unit in the side of the oil pan due to leaking, and soldered the wire that had pulled loose back together.
I have a check engine light that comes on, I got it scanned, and it said left o2 sensor rich, right o2 sensor lean (or vice versa). I havn't replaced them yet, but I don't think that that would cause it to run like it does.
The car is a complete dog, and I can mat the gas peddle, and it sputters and spurts and struggles to make it to 3k rpm, but once it does, the motor then takes off with some power, then around 4k you can't feel a viberation anymore, and it pulls harder than it did. (Like it should at WOT).
It runs like this 90% of the time. This causes it to sit on a 500-600rpm idle instead of the 750-800rpm range it should. When it runs right, I can leave from a dead stop EASY in 2nd gear, but I struggle not to kill it in 1st when it's running like a POS.
I was thinking fuel presure would possibly cause this. So I talked to a mechanic (You know somebody that knows **** about computer controlled cars), and asked him what he thought, and I expressed my concern about the whine coming from the gas tank (Where the hayse manuel sayes the god damn pump is, why isn't it on the side of the block?), and he told me it was okay. And it was normal.
Maybe he just doesn't know his ****, because it aint getting spark or it aint getting fuel, or a combo of the two. I just need to get this fixed, because my 85 camaro gets all of 8mpg driving like granny.
God I wish this was a carbed 350 w/ HEI ignition.
Any ideas on what's wrong?

Re: Need help, no experence with electronic motors
fuel filter, or plugged injectors, and with 130k I bet the car is plugged up too.
You can run sea foam in the gas tank and try to clean the injectors out, an O2 sensor reading lean could be an injector plugged

If you have a whine from the fuel tank, it is a bad fuel pump.. dont let that mech tell you any different.. its going bad.. and change those sensors also, do both of them, with that many miles on it.

Not true in the least. Fuel pumps whine. All of them, constantly. It's NO way to tell if it's bad or not. What is? A fuel pressure test.
You never mentioned changing the filter, that's a necessity. So is the pressure test. Do change the front 02's, they should be treated like a tune up part.
other things to consider.
Vacuum leak.
injector issue.
clogged converter.
Etc
