My V6 to LT1 swap (PICS!)

The car as I bought it. '96 3800 with a bad crank position sensor. The donor car is a '94 so the electrical is going to be a headache but ill figure that out when i get there. I got it for $1400 off ebay of all places. This winter I will be swaping the cam for something more aggressive and doing gears.

The Donor car behind it.

V6 before it gets dropped.

Out goes 3800

Out goes LT1

In goes LT1

Almost in

It's in! :sigh of relief:

Now to swap the rear end and wire it up.

The tranny mount for the '96 car is beefier then the 94's. '96 on top

Guess you don't need a engine hoist when you got a New Holland tractor sitting around. Looking good so far, what kind of headers are those? Any other bolt-ons on the LT motor?

Pacesetters. The clearance is SO good. Spark plugs will be no problem now. Other then the LT's ive got a nitrous kit laying around and cupple of other things not worth mentioning.

Yeah, I have Pacesetters on my car, plug access is so much easier compared to stock manifolds it is disgusting. Keep up the good work, let us know when she is finished.

Are you going to totally swap both cars? That way you could sell the sixer and get some of the swap money back.
