lsd install possible?

after being stuck in the snow too many damn times in the past few days, ive been itching to see if it's possible to put a junked lsd in my 94 v6. my questions are these:

is this even possible?
if so, what lsd am i supposed to grab, would one from an lt1 fit?
does it just pop in in place of the oem rear?
has anyone else done this to their 6?

any comments, answers, stories, pictures, instructions, whatever would be GREATLY appreciated.

thanks guys.

Mike

yes its do-able, many people have done it. what gear ratio do you have right now , you need a 3 seires carrier (3.23 +)(RPO code GU5). but many people jsut take the whole rearend from a Z or a T/A. installing an LSD isnt exactly jsut a pop in job, it takes a bit if work.

I replaced my differential and gears earlier this year. If you aren't too familiar with what needs to be done, I wouldn't risk it...just have a shop install it for you. Shouldn't cost that much ($250).

If you change your gears too, you'll need to get your PCM reflashed/reprogrammed since your speedo will be off.

Any LSD out of the current (93+) F-bodies will work...I'm not too sure about cars older than 93 but 93 and newer I'm sure of.

Do a search, I know this has been asked a couple times with some better answers than mine.
