Low Oil Pressure???

At 70 MPH, (2.2K RPMS) I'm getting the gauge between the quarter mark and the half mark. Its a tad bit closer to the quarter mark though but the car runs fine. Still scarying me alittle because I thought around those speeds it was at 60 PSI before. I AM in need of an oilchange soon though. How is Walmarts Castrol with a Fram filter? When it's cool the oil is alittle higher but not QUITE at 60 but much closer. The needle kind of jiggles around in a tight constricted area in response to throttle but doesn't rise much from idle to throttle. Am I in trouble?

Re: Low Oil Pressure???

my oil pressure does the same exact thing. its done it for a little over a year and i haven't had any major problems. it only does it with 10 W30 motor oil. if you put in 10W40 it will sit right on the half mark or maybe a little below it. i think our oil pump is just wearing ou or something. i am going to a much more powerful one this spring so that i wont have any problems when i start spraying.

Re: Low Oil Pressure???

When should we use 5w30 and when is it okay to use 10w40?

My oil level is fine and there's absolutely no noticable difference between the way the engine runs.
