Just like new?

I was wondering what all i can do to my motor to make it run like new until this summer comes to throw an LS1 into it. The motor has 156,8xx miles on it and i need it to last until atleast spring.

Why wouldn't it last till spring? They can go 200,000 miles if fluids are changed regularly.

A tuneup and an oil change are always a good start, I don't see why it wouldn't last a few more months though. Those v6 engines do have quite a bit of longevity to them.

Well then keep the fluids topped off, cross your fingers, and hope it lasts. Otherwise, you will spend some good money to have those issues fixed and if you are transplanting the motor in a few months anyhow, it would just seem senseless.
