Its Time

Well my 3.4 is on its last leg, it has a bad missfire, been traced to a valve problem, and it had/has some bearing chatter 2.

ive found a local shop that will bore it .40 over machine the heads and rebuild then and port and polish them and give it all back to me clean and dipped for 1200 in shortblock with a new crank and rods form and i would have to reassemble it from there (for labor hehe) i cant buy the parts to rebuild it for that around here, think its a good deal?

i wouldnt bore it .40 over unless you had to. i would only go .10 over or if it has been bored once already then go .20 over

y is that? i want HP lol. its just a temp fix till i finish bulding my lt1 (taking way 2 much cash lol got 4x invested in it then what i would pay for the v6 and still to much to go)

i was told .40 over still leaves room, the max is .60 according to the shop

You don't get power from a bore job, you get it from the stroke.

Find me an engine that has a bore kit that ups power...you can't.

383...stroker. 335...stroker. 347 and 392 (Fords)...stroker.

Bore job patches over cylinder wall damage.

The port and polish on the heads and intake is a good start, though.
