How Would A Cut-out Sound On A V6??

Just wondering becuase my girl friend has a 2001 v6 and she loves the sound of my cut out, and she wants to get one. Does anyone know how a cut out would sound on a v6?

Sounds like a V8 down low, especially at idle. Sounds like crap up high.

Agreed! I had one.....for 30 min then I took it out and sold it to a friend with a Z. It sounds like a Civic on crack, don't let her get it.

She can get a catback, and headers for a deeper sound (from what I've been reading, I too only have the muffler). Personally I'm going with B&B in a few months, haven't heard a bad thing about them. THough B&B is, so i hear, somewhat quieter than flowmaster, but sound good in all rpms.

that is if you don't mind the $600++ price tag.

Also, some say CAI will deepen the sound.

Chime in, guys.

There's Borla, though i hear it (also catback) sounds good with headers.

Umm, I was told by many of my friends that the cutout that wa son my V6 Camaro was the best sounding V6 they've ever heard. It does get a bit raspy at high RPM's, but the majority of the time it sounds really nice for a V6. It gets loud though, rattles the inside a decent amount, even moreso then the cut-out on my V8 does! (V8 just sounds a hella lot better and louder at higher RPM's)

I'd recommend it dude.

And hey, it's only $30. If she gets tired of it, cap the thing up. No biggie.

I heard yours and I also heard L337-RS's (from MOFBA.net) cutout. It sounded like a chainsaw or something up high. 94Teal don't have a cutout on his ride, but it sounds like he does at higher rpms.

flowmaster with a cutout would probably fool someone into thinking its an 8 at idle or a low rev.....up high tho they really do make the engine sound SMALLER

i had a cutout before i redid the entire exhaust. i only drove with it open at the track. it was too loud and annoying for street driving.
the video is with an exhaust leak. thatis why it is so loud, but the cut out was way louder than that.

fyi nino also has a cam, so a typical V6 won't sound like that...

I have my borla cutout 1/2 open, it sounds bad *** down low and up to about 2200RPM's but after that it sounds awful like a civic (but only faster)
