How will Headers effect sound?

I was toying with the idea of buying an Lt1 as a 2nd car but after considering what it's going to cost me i think i want to forget about the idea and spend a little money on more mods for my v6.

I was thinking of getting the pacesetter headers w/y-pipe since i already have a catback system. My question is will the headers make the car sound more like a V8 or more like a 4-banger with my flowmaster cat-back?

deeper tone , more of a growl, not very 4 banger-ish

i would sell your car and buy the LT1, your just going to wind up wasting your money on making a lil faster instead of getting a LT1 which will be alot faster! Now im not saying you can't make the v6 fast, but your going spend alot more in the long run modding it

your absolutly right and I completly have that in mind but i cetainly don't plan on trying to make my 3.8 as fast as a Lt1, but I just wanted something to get it to perform a little better. I am considering trading my car for an lt1 but my question is can I find an Lt1 that is as reliable as my 3.8, The last thing I need is to buy a car and have to put thousands in repairs in it over the next year. ALthough I have seen cars with around 70,000 miles that have just about everything that could break down replaced, I think I'll just wait for something like that close to me. The other problem I have is that the Lt1 will not move in snow but the v6 does well, so if i get a v8 i will have to get a beater, and then I'm spening a lot of money maintaining 2 cars including repairs and insurance. I guess I could just plan on calling sick on snow days but that's not always good, but hell it only snows 3 days a year so who really cares right?

well, actually I think if I just had 1 car (the Lt1) the insurance would be slighly less, because i only have one ticket and driving a new car libals State farm a higher expense, you know if I wreck and do $10k in damage to my car, then they have to fix it, but if i do the same damage to an old car, then they just total it for less money. I was just saying that insuring 2 cars would cost more.

We may have 3 months of winter but lets face it, it only snows 3 days a year on average and the plows have the roads clear by 10:00, so at the worst i would be 4 hours late for work, which i can make up, I've tried to drive a muscle car in raw snow and I know it's fighting a loosing battle, all you end up doing is get stuck.
