If you don't live in a smog state drop a grand national engine in it.

Re: how to increase horsepower in my 98 V6.

i would probably start by reading the sticky on v6 tech, the link is https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=151018 ...u'll c what intake, headers etc other ppl are running and it'll give you an idea as to where to start. you also probably want to add a signature with info on ur car (auto/manual) and what mods u have alredy done, so people can help you out in a more specific manner. other than that welcome to the boards man i'm sure others will chime in pretty soon

Most people start with intake and exhaust. Then you can go cam & springs/retainers, roller rockers and other head work like porting and polishing. At that point you'll greatly benefit from a tune so pick up HP tuners. Though can be beneficial earlier along the road this is where the tuning starts to become more important. After that go for the power adder of your choice be it nitrous or forced induction. Its usually cheaper to buy a v8 car or drop in an engine from a donor to get the 3.8L up to the v8 power levels.
