how does a cutout sound on a 3.8?

 

It is purely matter of taste, but I think it doesn't sound good at all...

My buddy has it on his and overall it sounds very rice.. Hate to say it because he has the best looking car in town IMO, but the cut out is rice... Now does it work, YES... He has netted I think 2/10ths on the average with it... So do the cut out for track use only.... for 25 bucks if you track race yes it is worth it..

just wanna have fun and beat some 4.6s with everyday driver.

 

Cutout didn't do anything for me performance wise. Sound wise, it's very annoying, especially on the highway.

 

at idle and low RPM, it sounds great...but at higher RPMs It sounds like total crap. Kinda like a credit card caught in a fan blowing on high. I have one on my 99' and I only open it up around town where I'm just cruising....(setting off car alarms) or on the freeway with the cruise control set. If I'm going to get on it at a light.... I close it with a quickness. I have a quicktime electric cutout BTW. In my opinion....unless you're going to the track on a regular basis, don't even bother.

 

my car with a cutout ran a 15.2 at 91mph
(96 camaro 3.23 gears) thats pretty good for a cutout only, so i think it help.
