Hey does anyone know anything about the Hooker cat-back systems? I have already ruled out Flowmaster for my v6, and am just seeing what the Hooker exhaust is about since it is in the same price range as the flowmaster. Does anybody have one? Do they sound ricey at higher RPM's? I am considering going with a Magnaflow system but might go with Hooker if it does what I need it to do. Any help here would be great. Thanks!!

I believe hooker is also chambered like flowmaster. Should be similar in sound.

please do not go magnaflow. here is a website that contains a clip i did. my friend is in the blue camaro with magnaflow, 3 inch tips and stock piping. if you upgrade from the whole cat on back it might sound decent. it might take a little time to download or just click right click save as.

Well the Magnaflow was gonna be a full cat-back, not just the muffler. Right now I am leaning towards a Magnaflow cat-back, unless I can get some more cash for a Borla. I was just curious as to if anyone knows anything about the Hooker cat-back.

I have the hooker catback on my Z, and it sounds AWESOME. THe sound is really deep, not raspy at all, and is quiet during highway cruising. I think it would sound better on a V6 than a flowmaster, but flowmaster has recently released a 3.8 cat-back that is around $300. That's the route I'd go if i were you.

Well all the flowmaster cat-backs I've heard for the V6 sound like *** once you get beyond 3000 rpm's. I am just curious as to if the Hooker would sound ricey like that as well.

Comparing your Z28 sound to the v6 on the hooker is apples and oranges man The Magnaflow on my Z sounds TOUGH as hell MEAN,but on the v6 its sounds good(not like the Z) one of the better systems I've heard on v6s,the idle is cool But I like the high rpms sounds better pretty tough not ricey but Mouthy performance.
If I was choosing performance, quality over all I'd get Magnaflow it is complete from Cat.,Flows blow poor workmanship, restricted flow"for sound" in thier chambers and baffles lame. Not sure about Hooker but if its like Flowmaster then the flow will be less to create a good sound, restricting flow.
The Magnaflow and Borla flow at approx the same rate.If your looking for performance get Magnaflow. If you decide against it,then Hooker over FloBlows dude
Magnaflow
