i recantly just bought a 85 s-10 blazer with 106K to use as a beater, the motor is in good condition, and it drives good
but ive never owned a car with that many miiles, what are some things that i should defantly want to do before i put it on the road?

 

Just do a visual on it to check on belts and check the plugs, wires, filters. Replace any that look like they need to be changed.

Actually, I'd just change the plugs and wires anyways. Might also want to look into some high mileage oil...can't hurt.

 

I bought an 87 s-10 with 136,000 miles for a low insurance deal. I would check plugs, wires, filters, pumps, oil, tires, suspension....basically go from front to back and check everything. I would say you should check everything you would if you bought a used car somewhere.
