Question high idle...again

ok well this happened before but it was bad injectors leaking gas. when i start the car up it revs up to between 2-3,000rpm and stays there. if i drive it for awhile it will eventually go back to 1,000 but usu goes to about 1500rpm. chevy dealer said it was the thermostat staying open which is a bunch of crap because the heat works and the temperature gauge works. but tonight im gonna do a coolant flush & put in a 180degree thermostat. i thought maybe the idle air control valve was bad or dirty so i just cleaned it off, still idles high, i bought a new one, still idles high. the air filter and everything is clean. any ideas on what it might be? i don't wanna run it fast. im not sure what else it could be

i think that it is a piece that i dont know what it is called. but it is a hose that connects to the upper plenum on the intake near the schrader valve for the fuel pressure. it is just a boot on a fitting, but if it isnt sealed all of the way, it will cause a high idle. i had this problem when i forgot to hook this up, once! i have just totally forgot the name of the damn thing. it has been a long time since i worked on the 3.4 so i have forgotten a few things. but check that and see if it is the problem.

thanks for the input, i checked for vacuum leaks and there were none. i fxied the problem tho, dirty TPS connection. heh i replaced the wrong damn thing, oh well my IAC shouldn't have problems for awhile now. i cleaned the connection to the tps very well and now it runs fine.... or seems to at least. nice job on the chevy place telling me it was a bad thermostat lol. i guess they wouldnt make money on a bad connection so they lied. oh well she runs nice now.
