hesitation and pop when cold

my hesitation is either back, or it never went away. it happens only when the motor is cold, like just after i start it up and push the gas, it will hesitate, then pop like an intake backfire, then the car will go. im sure if i let my car warm up for a few mins it wouldnt do that, but then i wouldnt need fixing the problem.

You definately have an ignition problem... Sounds to me a lot like what happened to me. Turned out to be a bad wire, which in turn fouled my plugs. Wires can be extremely touchy when they're getting bad. Doesn't hesitate all the time, but mostly when the road is wet, or the engine is cold and set to run rich. The intake backfire you spoke of is a tell-tale sign you need to check your wires, plugs, and possibly coil pack........

Easiest way to tell if the plugs are the cause is to remove each one and check the condition. If they're black, you're running rich, if they're reddish brown, you're lean.......a white color is what you're looking for....If you find that one of your plugs is fouled then you can go from there by checking that wire or possibly "getting REALLY technical" checking the resistance in the wire and coil.... Does your car have a coil pack? I don't know much about the 2.8l If you have any more questions, feel free to email me and if I don't know the answer....I'll get it for you.
