I put Bosch Pladium 4 tipped plugs in my car at 50,000 miles and I swear it ran stronger, I guess the bigger and better sparks make the fuel burn faster. The 4 and 2 tips are nice because you don't have to gap them.

Change the wires while your at it, get good lifetime warrrenty ones I've read a lot on here people have problems with cheapos burning out. I replaced the stockers at 60,000 miles with NAPA ones and have never had any problems with 85,000 miles now.
Use dieletric grease on the plug wires and anti-seize on the plug threads.

I as actually surprised yesterday, all summer I have been riding my Motorcycle and basically just using my car as a grocey getter and ofcourse driving mostly in town it was only getting about 21 mpg, but now that is is cooler I've been driving it to my new job 2-3 days a week which is mostly interstate about 50 miles round trip and it has been averaging nearly 25 mpg, I haven't got that good of mpg in years, the best I ever got with the car is 27 when in was new.

I don;t know if it is a rip off or not but I paid like $100 for a dealership to do an intake/ injector service, they put some professional cleaner in the fuel for the injectors and told me they used a machine to clean the intake manifold, ports and valves. They said it would run better and get better mileage plus I figured I've had the car for 7 years, it could probably use it.

Does anyone know more about this service and what it actually is?

its not necessarily a rip off but u can do it yourself for cheaper. my dad is a mechanic and is going to do that for my car soon. i usually put injector cleaner from lucas oil in once in a while but the to have them actually taken out and cleaned is better and helps mileage.

Whatever you do stay away from the bosch plugs. We fix lots of running problems because of bad NEW plugs. I would get the belden wires from napa , a/c delco double platinum plugs, pcv valve, fuel filter, If you can find someone with OLD gm top engine cleaner that stuff is magic on carboned valves. The injector cleaners we use are stronger than what you can buy over the counter. But it is the carbon off the valves that makes the power difference not the injectors.
