HELP!Stereo too heavy! Car bottoming out!-----

I got too much junk in my trunk. Anyway, my subs/box/amps are too heavy and weighing the car down. Everytime I hit a bump in the road, the car slams down hard. Kinda feels like the shocks are fully contracted and are being slammed fully together. I replaced the shocks. No change. I added 1/2" spacers in the springs and it helped a lot with my old system....but my new stereo is even heavier and now it's doing it with the spacers in! The shop also sells 1" spacers but I could barely squeeze the 1/2" ones in my springs. There's no way in hell 1" would fit. I'm not getting rid of the gear so please don't recommend that. My box is already half fiberglass/half lightweight wood, and I've removed as much excess weight in the car as I can. Pretty much alls I have behind the driver's seat is subs, box and amps. Still too heavy. ... what other suspension options do I have? I have been told springs are the best option. My car is a V6, someone told me the V8 springs are stiffer....any truth to this? They may be just what I need. Or does anyone sell kits to RAISE the ride height? And, of course, I don't wanna spend any more money then I have to.

im 99.99% sure there arent kits to raise our cars,

i woudl try a set of Z28 springs, and if that dosent work you might have to look into getting airbags, but thats not gonna be cheap

sure you just don't need new bumpstops?

I know you have weight but not that much...

bumpstops? Got any pics/links? I know I don't have THAT much weight. I mean, I don't have a 1 1/2" thick wall with 12+ 15"s or anything.....even close. Just a small pair of 15"s and three tiny amps.

bumpstops are just rubber bushings that go in the rear fender well, screw on with 2 bolts and stop the axle from coming too far up into the fender.

yep what he said, thing is they commonly break off on 4th gens...

It would look like a big black chunk of rubber maybe 3in bvy 2in. trapazoid shaped, it is a rubber bumper so the rear axle doesn't bang the frame...

new ones are like $17.50 a piece at the dealer... I had to replace one on my 94, freind has to replace both his on his 95...

you don't really have that much weight... My car would not bottom out like it did when my bumpstop was broken off even when I was carrying an entire weight set with 2 bars and a bench in my hatch...

They are made of a very hard rubber. The ones I am using look like the letter H. You just squeeze them into between the coils. Cost me like $15 from an auto parts store.

dude, if your car is doing that and u want to adjust your ride height in the front and back get some KYB adjustable gas shocks. you can find all 4 on eBay for about $300 .
