If he does alot of racing go with the 3.73s. Otherwise get 3.42s.

The door codes are:
Gu4 - 3.08's
Gu5 - 3.23's
Gu6 - 3.42's
The V6's don't come with 2.73's at all.Also,3.23 and higher (numerically) are a 3 series carrier while 3.08's and lower are 2 series.Good luck.

auto typically came with 3.08's series.
If you are going to be doing a lot of drag racing then go with the 3.73's. At highway speed you car could be a 2500 rpms easily. They had a ungodly amount of low end and will put you into your high gears fast and may not be a good thing because 3rd gear in auto's aren't the greatest. Your 60' times will be quicker but not as much improvement in your overall 1/4.
I would go with 3.42's if you just want to get some more power to your wheels and drive around town without your motor. It will give you a decent amount of low end and torque although it will cut down on your top end. Max speed roughly 90miles per hour? I have heard that although you probably could get higher easily. Anytime you switch your gears out you will have to recalibrate your computer(if the dealer does it $20+-?).
Unless you plan on getting a new motor in the next couple months don't go with 4.10's. Thats a whole different ballgame.
There are several guys on this board and others(see link in sig) that have switched to 3.42's and 3.73's. I would reccomend that you change your differential to a posi or . You will get more out of your gears that way. Good guy to talk to is Mustangeater82 or shortdog. Tell em blue95 sent yah!
