HELP Firebird will not stay started

I have a 97' Firebird w/ a V6 3.8L and 134,000 miles on it. Over the past 2 months it has been lagging on start up. Usually unless i pump the gas it won't start and stay started. As of today the car won't stay started at all, no matter how much gas how long i rev the accelerator. I literally had to drive it from where i was with my foot on the gas pedal the entire time. I am trying to figure out whether it is the fuel filter or fuel pump? And if i really need to drop the gas tank in order to change it, or can i get to the fuel pump another way? Please help if possible. Thank you.

Try the basics first..... Check for codes... How long has it been since a tune up??? Have the fuel pressure checked... Any loose wires or corrosion at connections???

Wrong forum.... I'll move your post to the "V6 Tech" forum.

Sounds like you need to check the fuel pressure.
