Headers, Midpipe, Catback

Hey,

Just wanted to get everybody's input on these different parts of the exhaust...I'm looking to upgrade my midpipe, then catback, then headers.

How worthwhile will this be on a 3.8L (already have ram air induction, whisper lid, K&N). Which is the most restrictive and which should I modify first? Any companies or brands you recommend?

Let Me Know,
Thanks,
Kevin

A cat-back should be your first mod. Not really sure what you mean by midpipe, do you mean the pipe in between the cat and the muffler? Thats the same as a catback

I mean the midpipe, the section between the headers and the catback (y-pipe / performance cats).

Ah, basically doing complete exhaust. First piece should be the catback...very restrictive.

What type of headers are you looking at? There is a new header that should be out soon...I'm waiting on them myself. Pacesetter, I believe.

Yeah, that's the plan. I have a Ravin muffler on now...so I'm inclined to do the midpipes first. What all options are available? Y pipe for Camaros? (I know mustangs use X pipes or H pipes a lot)

I think in the next few months, Pacesetter headers will be available that come with the Y-pipe. It looks like it from the pictures I saw...

How is the Ravin? I've only heard a few clips of it online...

Good luck to your friend...those have the reputation of leaking.

If they haven't leaked yet...they probably will soon. Only reason I haven't sprung for them.
