Post Hard to start problem

This is for a buddy of mine that has a 96 firebird with the 3.8. It seems like everytime he tries to start his car it takes 3 times to get it to go. They say 3rd time's the charm, but this is kinda annoying. What could be his prob?

That's what makes it so hard to figure out. The car runs great.

I had a '96 Camaro with the 3.8 and it had an intermittant starting problem as well...the dealer never could duplicate it. I finally discovered that it seemed to have something to do with fuel system pressure holding even after the car had been sitting. If it wouldn't start, I'd open and close the gas tank cap to relieve some of the pressure and it would usually start right up after that. It's worth a shot...
