Governor Switch Removal
Governor Switch Removal
I am wanting to know if anyone can tell or show me how to get rid of the ever annoying governor switch. My governor hits at 115 and I know my car can do well over 140..... I have a 94 3.4L and need this removed. Is there any way???????? Thnx for input Soccaballa2k4@aol.com
You will need to have the computer reprogrammed to remove the limiter. Also, unless your car has some serious mods, that 3.4 is'nt gonna push that heavy F-bod much past 130. I used to have one with a 5-speed and even with 15,000 miles on it with a recent tune up, it was still slow after about 90.
You could always throw a DPDT swicth between the sensor and the computer. I have yet to try this, but I believe that it will work. The only problem is that you will not have a working speedo when you hit the switch. If you would like to keep the speedo working, you will need programming from Fastchips which is around $400 I think.
