This a Good Induction System?

I want to get a new air intake somehow, whether it's modifying what I already have or just getting a cold air intake... but I don't want to spend a lot of money.

So is this one on RKSport pretty good?

all intakes of that design, will flow better, and make it louder at about 3000 and up rpm. That one is terribly overpriced though. The whisper lid is better because the lid part goes all the way back to the throttle body, so it doesn't use that ugly hose thing. Its also only around $100. get the cold air intake portion too, so it will deliver fresh air right to your filter.

After thinking about it a little further, I think I'll just go with a carbon whisper lid and a K&N.

I was going to go with an under-car ram air type set-up too, but I'm afraid water will get sucked into the engine...

You'd have to drive into a VERY deep puddle of water (deep enough to engulf the front bumper) to suck in enough water to do any damage. The underhood ram-air won't cause you any problems on normally wet roads.

ahhh, a little water down the intake will just help clean the engine up a little!!

Re: This a Good Induction System?

Thanks, guys. I think I'll get the under-car induction system too, along with the K&N and whisper lid...

Re: This a Good Induction System?

A whisper lid is a cover for your air filter that, I believe, comes with or includes a longer, smoother piping instead of the rigid stock piping and (I'm not sure about this one) is long enough to connect to your throttle body so that you can remove the air resonator box too... It helps for flow a hell of a lot and really does help more than the free ram air thing...

Re: This a Good Induction System?

I just put in a K&N filter, and it costs around the same as that one. So it looks good as far as I know. If it was cheaper, I'd be suspicious, though it is K&N after all. You get what you pay for, and I'm happy with mine. I hope yours works well too.
