Post getting a stock SS, or z28 exhaust for v6...

i'm about to call the junkyard to see if i can snag the exhaust from the cat back on something out there, be it an SS or a z28...just anything bigger than mine...and i need to know what year will fit with the least modifications. need to keep costs down....but don't some years come with dual cats?? which would make it hard to match up with my car thanks for your time...

one other question....will i have to get a new cat since this pipe will be bigger than the old one, and wont' fit correctly...or will they just weld it on anyways with no probs...i hate being new to this car stuff....

Cool

Post a WTB in the for-sale section.I wish I still had mine, but I totally destroyed it getting it off.Any year should work fine.I put a '98 SS exhaust on my '95 3.4 and all I needed was a hanger and a 2.25 to 2.75 inch reducer.A muffler shop did the welds for $20.

check
FL section on this board, guy is giving away 2 stock v8 exhasut setups.

don't get dual cats on your car.

I have a exhasut setup for a dual exhaust, means I make my own S-pipe I bought to 45 degree angles to complete the curve as opposed to the 2 90 degree angles.

I think it should help with everything.

i had Z28 exhaust on my V6 RS. It sounded pretty good, a lot better that a stock V6. But then i upgraded to borla and sold the Z28 exhaust. I suggest you look in the for sale column also.
