Question Gears and LSD ??

I just installed headers , exhaust , CAI , and I need some new gears . I wanna get 3.42 gears . My car doesnt feel more powerful , and the guy who installed my mods said that I am gonna loose alot of low end power because of the compression and he said that I should get new gears. Oh, and should I really even get an LSD for 3.42 gears , would it even make a diffrence in my car or not. Or should I just get 3.42's alone??

I would go ahead and get while you have it open. I mean why not you spend $100 to get more traction and put power to the ground better?

3.42's are probably the best all around choice for a f-body. It will give you more low end power but will take away some of your top speed. If your car is auto you probably have 3.08 gears which is a series 2 gear. The 3.42's are a series 2 if you want to do it you will have to make some small changes back there.

Yes, put in the LSD. It makes a huge difference in how hard you can launch.

You may as well get yourself a complete rear end off of a V8.

You can get 3.42's, LSD, and Rear Disk Brakes in one shot for about $300. It will just bolt right on (with a longer e-brake cable).

Call your local salvage yards.

Good point on the disk brakes....If they have a F-body in there you will be much luckier than I was! There are a couple of adds for a axle in the classifieds now...
