Gauges

Can you put the 150mph V8 gauges on the V6, if so what changes will have to be made? I have seen firebirds with this so wondering if you can on the camaros.

They won't read correctly.

I'm pretty sure you would need to reprogram...

Reprogramming...eh...I had a hard time finding a dealership that would reprogram my PCM for 3.42 gears when I still had 3.08 gears. Some find it hard to find a dealer willing to do it, some find them easily. Depends I guess.

I'm sure someone has done the gauges and will chime in...I'm just guessing you would need reprogramming since the needle would be at the same spot but the gauge itself would show a different MPH reading.

I remember this being discussed a long time ago, I couldn't find it in a search though.

I forgot what all was involved, a reprogram at the very least.

This has been a topic of discussion. It should switch out without modifications. The Speedo will be accurate the Tach will not due to the difference in cylinders....

That's impossible, simply putting in V8 guages would not work because the numbers are in different places, on the Z28s when the needle points straight up it points to 80mph. On the V6 (3.8l at least) when the needle point straight up it is at about 65. At 120mph on the V6 gauge the V8 gauge would read 150mph...

The tach should be ok.
