You can run 87 octane, or 104 VP race fuel and anything in between.

But unless you did somthing so that the car requires premium, you'll probabally just be wasting your money on anything higher than 89.

If you need to ask, you don't have the mods that would require premium.

Stick to 87 but use a high quality brand. Thats my advice.

Actually I tried this theory myself this week. I ran premium which I usually do and it felt great. No rough idleing or anything like that. Then I ran a mid grade and needless to say it ran kinda sluggish. It had rough starts and things like that too. So im gonna stick with premium. Only mods are Lid, Ram Air and exhaust.

I've tried this too. I've had my GF fill up my tank with either premium or regular but not tell me which one for two weeks. I, myself, couldn't tell a difference.

If your car is running strange on 87, the gas it was meant to run on, there is a problem.

All gas is the same.

I run 87 octane.

Some people say, "I fill up on brand X because when I filled up with brand Y, it ran like sh*t!"......that has never happened to me...

I ran Sunoco 87, Gulf 87, and a crapola brand 87 and I couldn't tell the difference in performance or mileage.

I agree that most gas is the same. Our V6's are meant to run on 87, and will do just fine with cheap brands like Arco or my favorite...gas from Costco.

Had the car checked out at 50,000 and the fuel system looked great (and that's with running all the cheap/87 stuff!)

I run 87 in the 3.4, and it runs fine. No need to put higher than that in a stock V6. Now I tried running 87 in the Z, needless to say she was meant for premium
