Fog lamp bulbs

I have a burnt out foglight, and don't know how to change the bulb out? What kind of bulb do I even need?

Thanks!

Ed

whoops. . .it's a 98. There are all sorts of FAQs out there for the 93-97 cars, but I still haven't found any for the 98 and up.

Thanks,
Ed

That website is good for looking up lighting for any vehicle, though I don't like their products or use them.

I bought a replacement from Autozone for my foglight, but it wasn't as intense as the OEM. I went to a dealer & bought one.

Changing the bulb was a pain for me, I went from under the car. The hardest part was changing & replacing the actual bulb, you can't see what you're doing. Some people replace from above. It's best to learn the hard way (by doing it) I'd say.

Good luck.

It is a pain to change the foglight bulbs. You have to go under the car and take off a plastic guard. Then you have to feel around with your hands, twist and pull the old bulb out, and then do the opposite to put the new one in. That is how it is done on a 98+ firebird like mine.

i change my foglight bulbs from the top. Its easier for me. And I have a '98 Camaro. If you can find'em, they should be replaced w/ sylvania bulbs. i have found those to work the best.

I think the silverstars will exceed the OEM intesnsity. I had them on my headlights but switched to Nokyas because I wanted a blueish tint. Sorry, I know the question was not directed to me, just my opinion.

Yes they are OEM replacement, the Sylvania halogen bulbs are the exact specs as what came with the car. I know cuz i replaced a burnt out one today. Part 880 for the birds, 8.99 at pep boys, takes 2 mins all you need is a 10mm socket to get to the bulbs from underneeth the car.

Correct. the Sylvania bulbs are not the Silver Stars they are just the ones you buy at Pep Boys and they are a perfect match. And I don't know about that going through the bottom of the car stuff. Going in from the top works just fine for me and I don't have to unscrew anything.

I think the camaro and firebird setups are different for reaching the bulbs. Going through the bottom for the bird is easiest, my haynes manual looks like going from the top is easiest for the camaro.
