I use Mobil Oil (Not Synthertic) and AC Delco Filters in my Ford and use Max Life and AC Delco Filters in my Z. I went to Max life because of an oil gasket leak.. Tiny one... Puddle size of a quarter if i let it sit three days.

AC Delco Filters I am most happy with.. Then K&N, the FRAM..

Its been suggested that you shouldn't use synthetic on a high mileage car, but I did and no leaks. Just stay away from FRAM oil filters.

Should be ok, I would go ahead and use it. There was a thread about them a while back saying that the filter element doesn't always go up to the point it is supposed to allowing dirty oil through. If you have your receipt and the auto store isn't very far then I would exchange, other wise it should be ok just not the one I would buy if I had another choice.

Right now I am using a mobil 1 filter but its pretty expensive plus have to pay for shipping. I don't know why everybody carries their oil but not there filters.

The penzoil ones work good and shouldn't be too hard to find.

Your dad is going to change the oil for you?

Just ask him how to do it, its super easy. Theres just a bolt you take out then the oil comes out that hole. Then the oil filter screws off. Screw on the new filter, put bolt back in, put new oil in.

I use Valvoline Synthetic blend and typically I use Fram Oil filters but have recently switched to K&N. Once I hit
75,000 miles I'm switching to MAX LIFE.

Two camps: One that wouldn't touch a Fram and the other that swears by them. There was a huge debate thread here not too long ago if you are interested in it.

I personally run Mobil 1 (BTW, no such thing as non-synthetic Mobil 1...that would be just regular Mobil) with a K&N filter. My sister's friend works at Kragen so I get them for the price of Pennzoil filters.

Wix filters are good. NAPA sells them under their own label...the gold and silver filters.

If you plan on doing 3 month, 3,000 mile oil changes, just grab a good dino oil (Pennzoil is good, Chevron also) and a Delco filter. Wal-Mart oil filters are actually very good...built by Champion Labs who also builds the Mobil filter. Shell is a little thing but for $2, a pretty good buy.

Check out your local Autozone. The one down the street from my house carries them.
