you'll need your computer reprogrammed or else you will be pumpin in a lot more gas than you would need.. your mialage would be very ****ty, and it would cause the cat to fry.

if you got the PCM reprogrammed then your mialage wouldnt go down (or up) and the cat wouldnt get its *** kicked... but you wouldnt have any gains either. you dont need more fuel on a car that is stock

but wouldnt the o2 sensors monitor if the gases were coming out rich and adjust the amount of fuel being pumped accordingly?

well i know my friend with an LT1 just blew his motor because his tuner didnt change the settings in the PCM for 31# injectors

but even if the computer will adjust for the new injectors why would you want to put them in? the stockers will be fine unless you do some serious mods

its not that i need more feul, its that mine have 175000 miles on them and they are running like s**t.ther dosent seem to be enough cleaner in the state to help them out. i can get a set of infectors for the ls1 for 50 bucks, they were sitting on a display case. this is compared to 250 that the shops have told me, and how hard/ expensive would it be if i had to reprogram the PCM.

50$ for the injectors is a hell of a deal, you sure they are in working condition?

im not sure about the PCM reprogramming.. i know no one does it for the 3.4L computer, but when i see a thread about 3.8 tuning, i dont read it , so im not helpful there

how big are the 3.8L injectors , i have a spare set of injectors for a 3.4L if they are the same size (the 3.4L ones are 17#) i'd let ya have em for 20$

I don't know what the 3.8L are but,
If they put a speed density fuel injection system in your car it will not work unless you do some mods to get more air in and out of the engine.
If you have a mass air flow system it could work.

the injectors were siting on a display case and have never been installed/used. however the box was lost and all they know is that they are either for the lt1 or ls1 (set of 8). i believe those will fit in my car as far as installation goes, but i dont know anything about injectrs. if anyone nows the stock rating of lt1 or ls1 post it. i did some reseasrch and i belive the 3.8 uses #24 injectors, if i am wrong on that please correct me.

Your car has:
22 lbs.hr. (AC Delco 217-306) injectors
all 3.8's have the same 22 lb.hr. except for 00-02 they have 22 lb.hr. injectors but there a different part # compaired to all other years.

How have you determined that it is your fuel injectors that are going bad? Based on mileage?

i have a tool to plug my laptop into the odbII system. and my oxygen sensors are giving very rough readings, instead of a nice curve. as far as i can tell, from doing some research, my injectors have about 125,000 miles on them scince they were last replaced. it also idles kind of rough unless i use a higher octane gas. and it has rough acceleration, and i just replaced one of the coils , the wires and the plugs. that iswhat is making me think that it is the injectors
