Engine is loading up....
Engine is loading up....
Hey yall. My car is loading up with fuel (raw fuel is coming out of the exhaust and you can smell it really good under the hood when the car is running) and it has fouled the plugs (I think). Every cylinder is getting fire. It sounds and feels like it is missing and it has no power. I rebuilt everything in this car about two years ago (engine, tranny, etc...). New fuel pump and fuel pump relay. Everything. Now it set the code that says "Fuel pump voltage too high or too low". My thinking is that it is too high and the fuel pump is pumping overtime and the engine cannot use all this fuel. My question is will changing the fuel pump relay and plugs fix this problem? Or does the fuel pump get its voltage from somewhere else? Thanks for all the advice in advance.

Re: Engine is loading up....
I would check out a Chilton's or Haynes manual wiring diagram, find the wire that feeds voltage to the pump, then check the reading with a multimeter and compare that to what the manual says it should be. My Haynes manual is only for 93-97 so I don't know if it would do you any good.
Re: Engine is loading up....
fuel pump voltage too high???? never heard this
I think there is another problem!
Please check your fuel pressure regulator at the fuel rail.... I think the
diaphragm ruptured and fuel can enter the intake over the vacuum hoses...
