Question Drum to Disk Brake Conversion

The big Drum Brakes in the back of the V6 is a dead givaway that it's not a Z, and they are ugly. What do I need to convert my rear Drum Brakes to Disk Brakes?

Thanks

rear end

bro i was thinking about doing the same thing and heres the easiest way.

just buy a complete rear end from the same year car as yours. benefits are different gears and disks.

with that, i heard your going to need a longer e-brake cable too for some reason. with the gear change, you might need to have your speedo re calibrated.

with having disks in the back now, your going to need a new porportioning valve to get fluid back there.

it sounds like alot- but its alot easier and worth more in the end imo.

hope that helps-

I never used a proportioning valve, my brakes stop better then before when I had drums, it bolts in, jsut use 93-97 lt1 rearend for 93-07 v6s, and 98-02 ls1 rear ends for 98-02 v6s.

you can use a ls1 rearend on a 93-97 but the rear discs will be larger, will be functinal and streetable but not ideal.

You do need a differnet e-brake cable jsut get one of a z28 or a 4-wheel disc brake v6, and year will work, you need form the point where it splits from one to two, cables back.

and once again, i never used a proportioning valve soem said I needed it soem say i didn't I haven't used one, and my car stops better and I get even brake pad where, come this august it will be 2 years with this rear end on my car. Has one road race, 7-8 autocrosses, and maybe 90 passes on the drage strip on it.
