Does the RS have two exhaust tips?
Does the RS have two exhaust tips?
I can't figure out if my car is an RS or not. I don't have a body kit, but today I did a burnout and left two tire marks. I did a Carfax search and it said Camaro RS.
So I need to know if my year Camaro RS models came with one or two exhaust tips, because I have one turn down tip.

No, I have V6, rear drums, no badges. But I have a full posi. The carfax says I have a RS, I don't get it, do other RS camaro's my year have rear drums and dual exhaust tips.
EDIT: I bought mine used, maybe the previous owner removed the badges and kit
, but that would ruin having an RS. Or maybe he just added a full posi?

You might have the Y87 package....it is different from the RS option. The RS option is the GFX and spoiler along with badges. The Y87 package is the V6 performance package, it includes posi, dual exhuast and I think 3.42 gears

I'm so confused, the only thing I can think of is that the previous owner put in a full posi. Or got the RS package, but ruined it and took it off along with the badges.

Mine has 3:08 and if I can rember, mine is around 1500 at 60
also, with the 3.08 gears it takes ALOT to burn out.

Well, I found out that I have a full posi when I did a burnout in Reverse.

If there is equil traction both wheels will spin like in snow or on a beach. Both mine have pealed in the past and I have an open.
Also check the door codes for gearing.
Gu4: turd gears
GU6: 3.42
Sad, but I'm also thinking the previous owner might have ripped off the ground effects, badges and sold them seperate.
I mean, anyone can add posi but it would be harder to change the Vin-unless it would a mishap at the factory, maybe?

sont freak out dude. My brother has a green camaro. On his insurance form it says Camaro RS, on my form it says CAMARO, he has a 96, Im not sure if it was single exhaust for twin when he bought the car it had flowmasters im guessing it was a single. Click on my sig and look on page 3 at his car its green. Maybie you can compair.
RS is only a package, it doesn't change anything with the VIN just like an SS shows as a Z28 by the vin.
The only way to be 100% sure is to look for the RS RPO number on your RPO sticker.
All RS's except the 2002 by SLP had one tailpipe standard the Y87 is the only V6 that had two.
